SUGGESTIONS TO FALL ASLEEP EASIER

Bedtime habits begin between the ages of 1-1.5 and become very important between the ages of 2 and 4. They symbolize the transition from morning to night and are very important for a comfortable and safe transition. The issue to be considered in sleeping habits is not to allow children to complicate these rituals. For example, he may want you to kiss his bedtime friend 3 times, but it is an exaggeration to ask you to kiss all the books in his library or all the toys in his basket. In these situations, you must set your boundaries and abide by them. Another exaggerated habit may be an unending desire to eat/drink. Your child can have a small food or drink before bedtime (before brushing their teeth) and a glass of drink can be left with them when they are thirsty while they sleep.

Before going to sleep, your goal should be to reduce movement as much as possible. Thus, your child will get used to the necessary calm before going to sleep. Being excited can cause them to become more restless or aggressive instead of tiring them out.

Additional suggestions;

• Sleeping with the same sleep object every night.

• Pre-sleep bath ritual

• Drinking the same drink with the same glass or bottle before sleep

• Identifying a sleep song or tale

• If she doesn't like to sleep alone, try to move away gradually. Lie on your side, then sit down, then try moving away gradually, such as a chair next to the bed and then in front of the door.

• Making a promise to come back to the room after 5-10 minutes to say good night for the last time and keeping this promise will strengthen your trust and make it easier to go to sleep alone.
